Useful official Hong Kong tools: reports, weather, addresses, bills and laws
Use 1823, MyObservatory, government maps, eWater, e-Legislation and property searches alongside digital identity and practical record-keeping.
Start with the task you are preparing for and work through the next steps.
Start with these three stages
Start with the result you need: reporting a problem, finding a place, checking a rule, paying a bill or applying for a service. Then choose the official tool that answers that task. These guides explain common services and the limits of their information, with references, timestamps and sources to preserve. Let the account holder handle banking logins and verification; a family helper can organise questions and documents without taking control of private credentials.
Obtain the app or service link through the department's own page and identify the responsible organisation and full address. Use 1823 for a non-emergency public problem, government mapping for an address and MyObservatory for weather. Match the selected location or account to the task you are actually handling. Bookmark the formal entry point so each later visit need not begin with an advertisement or a forwarded short link.
Check the date, coverage and selected branch of each enquiry. A weather notification can be delayed, a map symbol does not establish that a facility is open, and an eWater profile does not itself transfer an account. Legislation needs its version and verified format identified. A property search requires the correct unit, with unresolved title questions taken to a suitable professional rather than answered from the screen alone.
After submission, payment or application, preserve the confirmation, reference and time. AI can organise a checklist or draft an enquiry, while the specific rule still needs checking against the official source. When a file is missing or a status has not refreshed, enquire with the original reference before paying or applying again. Save important addresses and notices offline so a phone or network failure does not leave you without a useful support route.
