Rua do Cunha, Taipa Houses, Coloane Village and Hac Sa are different stops. For village atmosphere with fewer rushed connections, start in Taipa and choose Coloane Village as the second cluster. If a beach is essential, deliberately remove another stop and recalculate the journey home.
Before you go
Give Taipa its own walking cluster
Start around Rua do Cunha and allow a seated lunch before the Carmo area and Taipa Houses. The Cultural Affairs Bureau lists regular museum access from 10:00 to 19:00, last admission at 18:30, Monday closure and free admission. The houses serve different purposes, and a dining establishment is not the same as an exhibition gallery. Check which interior or exhibition you want instead of assuming that every building in a row of five is freely open. Allow time for the actual walk back to your chosen onward stop.
Choose a village route before adding a beach
For Coloane Village, build a short afternoon around the village square, waterfront and Chapel of St Francis Xavier. MGTO lists chapel access from 09:30 to 17:30; respect services and temporary signs. Hac Sa or Cheoc Van adds another transport leg and should not be described as a turn around the corner from the village. If water recreation is the purpose, check that day's weather and the site's safety arrangements first. A sunny promotional photograph is not evidence that conditions are suitable when you arrive or that facilities remain available.
Choose the final terminal or hotel first
Returning to Taipa Ferry Terminal, the airport, a peninsula hotel or the bridge's Macao Port creates different final legs. Check the boarding stop, direction and last workable connection before fixing dinner. Seac Pai Van LRT station does not provide a direct final stop at every Coloane Village attraction; an onward connection still needs checking. A tired group can return to the hotel earlier. Treat taxis as an option to investigate, including queues and capacity, rather than a guaranteed rescue after the last planned connection has been missed.
Worked example: two villages with a practical finish
A visitor reaches Taipa in the morning, explores Rua do Cunha and has lunch before Taipa Houses. If interiors are closed, they keep the exterior stroll and assess transport to Coloane Village. A short chapel-area walk and rest then leave space to return to Taipa Ferry Terminal early. With a committed ferry departure, they omit Hac Sa and a large resort shopping stop. In rain they reduce the plan to Taipa dining and an available indoor gallery, while checking the sailing separately. Each version still has a clear beginning, worthwhile activity and feasible finish.
Give Taipa and Coloane separate time blocks and add a beach only after recalculating connections.
