If platform says dispatched and logistics says delivered but nothing is received, establish address and stage before assigning every issue to the final courier.
What to have ready
Key checks before ordering or posting
Map order, parcel count, mainland, cross-border and Hong Kong tracking and destination, separating warehouse and personal receipt. Delay, a seller initially omitting an item and transit damage can have different responsibility. Establish the last evidenced stage instead of treating one delivered label as proof every item is present.
Hongkong Post parcels and Speedpost have different service and compensation terms, as do other carriers. Claims can depend on deadlines, declared value, packaging and applicant status, without guaranteed full retail or indirect-loss payment. Keep the box, label and complete evidence instead of discarding packaging immediately.
A practical sequence
- Check split parcels and the actual destination of each leg and possible pickup or receipt by another person. Use official tracking rather than paying an unsolicited redelivery fee.
- Retain packaging, label, photographs and count time under the service requirements and flag the problem on site where appropriate. Do not discard an item needed for inspection while attempting repair.
- Give seller and carrier the evidenced facts with correct references, value and documents and ask who can claim. Record product refunds and logistics compensation separately to avoid recovering the same loss twice.
- Submit claims or after-sales on time and record request, acceptance and decision, asking about review if inadequate. Postal enquiries follow Hongkong Post's service channel; Consumer Council can advise conciliation for relevant commercial disputes.
A record or question to use
Record: 'Two items, two parcels; one received at warehouse and the other to check; Hong Kong tracking ___; damage observed on receipt ___; packaging retained; seller asked about omission, carrier about damage; amount already refunded ___. ' Trace stages without presenting a guessed cause as established fact.
Limits and where to seek help
The recipient is not necessarily the designated claimant; check sender or payer authority under the service. Late evidence can affect processing and a complaint does not guarantee compensation. Give original records to the appropriate authority for suspected false delivery or fraud.
Connect tracking by leg, preserve packaging and original evidence and approach the proper party within the formal period.
